JULIANE RESCHNAR

In 1983 I took my first SchH I test at the Dobermann Club e.V. with my brown Dobermann bitch “Romy vom Waechtersberg”. I have to admit that I was a bit nervous, but everything went well and that day Romy even got the highest score at Schutzdienst, with 96 points.

During the beginning it was not always easy as a girl with a Dobermann bitch to be accepted at the dog sports fields and to advance. More experienced older dog handlers in the clubs, who mostly worked with German Shepherds and outdated methods, had forgotten that they themselves had once been beginners too.

Without the support of my parents, who made this great hobby possible for me and always supported me, I would have at times lost the drive to continue. Many thanks from my heart for that!!!

The quality of Romy was incentive to continue and I led her up to SchH III and even did FH with her.

The dog exhibition shows were also a lot of fun and soon successful as well.

In 1997 I decided to apply as a judge for the Dobermann Club e.V.

Since 1998 I have been a judge for the Dobermann breed and I am also entitled to judge and conduct tests for breeding requirements and performance tests.

I regret that there are complaints sometimes from members of clubs regarding a lack of organization within their clubs. It is always easier to complain about things rather than do something about them yourself. Only a person who is active in a club can also rightfully criticize.

It is fun to seek after a goal with like minded people and put dreams into reality. I started early helping at exhibitions and was special-leader and test-leader. I also have held various positions in the leadership of the DV e.V., section Stuttgart and the LG Wüttemberg.
During the years I have been able to meet and appreciate many interesting and nice people. With some people, one only goes the same path for a short time while with others a true and lasting friendship develops. It is fun always meeting new people at home and abroad.
